Roxanne is finally able to tour again, so we decided to pick up where we left off and headed back to Kootenay Pass. We chose the Northwest slope of Cornice Ridge since avalanche danger was considerable. This area offers many options to mitigate exposure.

The visibility was very poor near ridgelines and variable at lower elevations, but some sunny breaks revealed the immense potential of the surroundings. We skied a few laps of creamy snow on mellow rolling terrain through sparse trees before regaining the ridge. From the summit, we enjoyed a descent all the way back to our car, proud to have reclaimed the Pass.
